Posted by Ian @ May 03, 2010

May 2, 2010 - Seattle, Washington. Quinn's Pub in Capitol Hill and SBS
Imports are pleased to announce Seattle's first-ever De Proef Brewmaster's
Collaboration Dinner on Monday May 17, 2010 as part of Seattle Beer Week
festivities. The six course, eight beer dinner created by Quinn's
Chef/Owner Scott Staples will feature the worldwide release of the newest De
Proef collaboration beer - Monstre Rouge created with Terrapin Brewery in
Athens, GA as well as the announcement of a Northwest brewer as the 2011
collaboration partner.

The dinner will start at 6:30pm. Tickets are $60, plus tax & tip. Tickets
may be purchased by calling the restaurant (206-325-7711) and providing a
credit card number.

In addition to aperitif and dessert beers, each course from Quinn's
innovative gastropub kitchen (such as pork pot pie and seared duck smothered
in foie gras) will be paired with either a De Proef beer or a beer from one
of the American collaboration partners. The event will also feature a couple
of "surprise beers and brewers" from previous collaboration partners.

"I am extremely excited to be working with Quinn's on this event," noted SBS
Founder Alan Shapiro. "The artisanal creations from their kitchen will be a
fantastic accompaniment to incredible range of beers we have chosen."

The De Proef Brewmaster's Collaboration series was created in 2007 by SBS'
Founder, Alan Shapiro. Each year SBS invites a noted American brewer to
travel to Lochristi, Belgium to brew a beer of their choice at De Proef with
Brewer and Owner Dirk Naudts. Past collaboration partners have included
Tomme Arthur of Port Brewing/Lost Abbey, Jason Perkins of Allagash, and John
Mallet of Bell's.

The 2009 collaboration, Monstre Rouge, is loosely based on Terrapin's Big
Hoppy Monster beer. Monste Rouge is an Imperial Flanders Red Ale aged with
American oak and fermented with Belgian Brettanomyces yeast. It has a wide
range of flavors including tart, sour, sweet, hoppy and woody. It is 8.5%
alcohol by volume. It will be officially released on August 1, 2010. For

Quinn's Pub was founded in 2007 by Scott and Heather Staples, owners of
Restaurant Zoe. This acclaimed gastropub combines innovative, hearty
cuisine with a fine selection of wines, cocktails and a 100+ item beer list,
and has been deemed an "instant classic" by local press, consistently making
Top 10 lists throughout the city. It has also received praise from the
national media with several mentions in GQ magazine and a reverent nod as a
Top Gastropub by Bon Appetit.

Scott Staples recently cited the need to go all out on this dinner; "We've
got some phenomenal beers here... we're going to need some phenomenal
food!". Quinn's is located at 1001 E. Pike Street in the heart of Seattle's
Capitol Hill neighborhood. www.quinnspubseattle.com
